[RECOVERY] Unofficial ClockworkMod 5.0.2.8 recovery for LG Optimus 3D Max P725

hii this is Full working ClockworkMod 5.2.0.8 recovery for LG Optimus 3D Max

i have compiled this recovery for my friend eklovya

How to install:

1. Root your phone
2. download this zip file
3. unpack it and Place the "recovery.img" on the root of your sd card
4. Type the following command on terminal emulator:

su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p6.backup bs=4096
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 bs=4096
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 bs=4096

once complete, power off your phone.

5. Now use keys to go into cwm recovery mode

Developers Out there, Please List out the incompatibilities between Optimus 3D Cube and Optimus 3D so as to port the ICS from Optimus 3D Cube. Since Both are having Identical H/W Specs (except for the internal memory), what could go wrong?

I know that for many who already know this kind of news ROM no big deal, but for the poor owners of an LG O3D is big news to enjoy other options. Our options have been changed forever Stock or Stock and Cyanogen.

[DualBoot]How-to

Hi guys,

finally I found a way to make dualboot on our beloved O3D working!!

This way isn't as much easy as on other devices like the desire HD where
you have just top install an app and everything is done by itself, so follow this
guide at your own risk!!

Warning after following this guide your internal sd card is only 3545mb big!!!!

1. Make a backup of your internal sdcard to your PC!! All your data on the sd card will be gone!
2. Reboot to cwm- or twrp-recovery (power+vol down+3d button)
3. connect your phone to your pc.
4, open up cmd or a terminal and type:

(if your using twrp you can use the built in terminal)

Now you have 3 new partitions for data2 system2 and cache2.

The first part is done.
Now we have to edit the updater-script to make it install the system and maybe the data on our new partitions.

1. Open the zip you want to install as second rom with winrar or something like this.
2. Open the updater-scrip in the zip and change all the mmcblk0p7 to mmcblk0p16 and mmcblk0p8 to mmcblk0p18.

Now we have to change the boot.img in the zip to modivied one, just flash one of the zips that suits to your ROM

After flashing the zip you will boot into the second rom you have installed, to boot back to the first rom you will have to flash
a boot.img that suits to your rom (for stock rom something like the Promethius Kernel)

On stock roms it could be that your sdcard isn't mounted correctly (maybe on non stock roms too)
you can try to change the vold.fstab in /system/etc to something like :

About ICS on P920:
I guess you have read the news in the [ALL ICS / JELLYBEAN] Related Topics / Requests / Questions [xbsall has ported ICS]
This is what you have all been waiting for the last 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? 6? months... (or more)
This is the FIRST ICS FULL 3D ROM for the P920.
This is a direct port from SU760 (KOREAN O3D) modified to work on the P920.
This one is NOT rooted NOT cleaned from bloatware its 100% STOCK V30B.

!!!TAKE ALL OF YOUR FILES FROM YOUR PHONE AND INTERNAL SDCARD CAUSE EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE DELETED!!!!


Installation:
Download ROM file XBSA404.rar.
In the rar file you will find two files ..
One is a bin the other is an fls.
Flash them both with LG Flashtool like you normally do, they are already modified to work with P920.

Known Bugs:
Camera is upside/down. (For 2D use CAM360 Application from Google Playstore go to setting and us Direction Revise to fix it)
Capasitive keys search button is acting as a back button.
SMS Messages are only 80 characters.

Yes this is FULL of SKT bloatware because it's an OFFICIAL SU760 ROM.
After you ROOT it you have to remove them yourself.

Downgrade:
In case you want to downgrade to Gingerbread go [GUIDE] [P920] [SU760] Resurrection Guide (Lets get those brick's fixed...) and flash BOOTV21E ROM..
Read the Guide and if that doesn't work i can't help you more.

Will there be a Custom ICS ROM?
Custom ROM will be Uploaded only when LG releases Official Version for SU760 so i can use the latest STABLE and not BETA's (and only if they don't release ICS for P920).

Try camera.omap4.so from SU870/P940/Nexus but the prob is i don't think its possible to change this with android booted so CWM is needed

In short i think the sensor arrays in the su760 are upside down so instead of 90 we need to set it to 270 the green hex offset is the one that needs changing.

I did try this guide:
[GUIDE] [SU760] How to ROOT V29C/D ICS
but it didn't work for me...

So I tried the script posted here:

and it worked really well!

Steps
--------------
* Get version 1.2 of adb_restore_rooting if you can't unpack v1.6 with your current unzipper
* Unpack the archive
* Turn on USB debugging on your phone (Developer options)
* Execute rooting.bat
* Follow the instructions on screen
* When it says "Done!", press return on your PC and it should complete the process.

Note: For those who really want to use v1.6, install 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.com/). Thanks MoYo!

well after trying different cwm flashers and methods, and bricking my phone, finally found one method which works (until we get a proper one), its the same one which works for the lg Prada 3.0 ICS.

ps: still testing so i take no responsibility if any thing happens

EDIT: So after a bit of testing, things that dont work:
- cwm doesnt work for me only twrp
-if you erase you system for what ever reason, this is useless (hence why i put temp), so hopefully a dev can make something permanent

About this ROM:
This one is PREROOTED and CLEANED from SKT BLOATWARE.
I have also made a few changes regarding phone model etc.

Installation:
Follow ALL the installation steps of [ROM][ICS][P920] First ICS 4.0.4 Full 3D ROM Ported From SU760
Root and install TWRP.
Download ROM file ICS-GREEK.ZIP.
You will find a zip file.
Go to TWRP Wipes.
Wipe Cache
Also Wipe Dalvik-Cache.
Also Format System.
One more step only if someone wants a completely clean system (or if you want partial Greek Language Support you should also Factory Reset so keep a backup of your data.)
Now install zip.
Reboot (it will say there is no system but ignore that)
Thats it wait until it boots and also installs the extra Apps.
This zip alone is not going to upgrade you if you are still on Gingerbread so don't lose your time.

Multilanguage Support?
Languages: User Interface is partially available in Greek (50%) , English and Korean.

Known Bugs:
[P920]Camera is upside/down. (For 2D use CAM360 Application from Google Playstore go to setting and use Direction Revise to fix it)

FM Radio: Does't work with Gingerbread/Froyo app.

For Greece i use V18a Baseband.
I have also created a baseband thread with so far WORKING Basebands info ICS Basebands

insert language of rom ics

Hi, I'm trying to enter the European languages ​​in the rom ics. I read around that the files should be placed on the framework-res.apk.
I tried to extract the apk with apktool and removes it properly. the problem comes when I have to recompile the apk. the file does not compile the program can not find the source.

I have only KU5400(the same hardware spec SU540)
but I can port the omap4boot / u-boot for SU760/SU870 with others help.

LG Prada 3.0 is very similar with the P920/SU760 and P720/P725/SU870
So I cross post it in this dev section.

Now SU540/SU760/SU870 is unbrickable with this omap4boot + u-boot,
and with the new ported u-boot you can even change your kernel too!

these are the opensource gpl components for the ku5400 (which essentially is the p940 for the eastern market). you can get the zips for the p940 here http://www.lg.com/global/support/ope...delCode=LGP940

this includes the kernel sourcecode which allowed me to build e.g. the cifs. module.
unfortunately we are still st(r)uck with an encrypted bootloader. therefore it is not possible to boot any custom kernel atm.

(this method does not recover from broken bootloader at all)

1. Install OMAP4430 USB driver

If you plug your Phone on PC without battery, OMAP4430 device appeared for seconds and then disappeared.

2. start start_fastboot.bat using the omap4boot + u-boot (win32 port of omap4boot included)

1. Turn off your Phone, pull out battery.
2. start "start_fastboot.bat" (it will waiting until phone connected)
3. connect USB cable, the usbboot will start
4. insert battery while the usbboot is waiting
5. unplug USB cable the LG logo will appeard and the fastboot started.

If you have some time please test it with your phone.
Im not sure It is working for P940

just test it and report about it. it is almost there to unlock change your bootloader(lk bootloader) to the new u-boot bootloader
to circumvent locked booloader.
